My Story

Hi, my name is Ava Hardin! I am 16 years old. One day when I was in 3rd grade my teacher informed us that we would have a new student in our class. she told us that he was from a small island called Haiti. A couple of days later he arrived. I was instantly intrigued and lucky for me he had so many stories, but one of the ones that have stayed with me over the years was how he and his sister where given up by their family so that they would have a better life. It broke my heart and that someone had to make the decision to give up their children so that they might have a better chance at life.  And that was my spark. No child should have to go through that. So after being his friend and hearing his stories I knew what my purpose was.  So I went to my mom and I informed her about my experience and how I wanted to make a difference in that country and honestly I couldn't have done this without her. So side note: Thank you Momma. My passion has lead my family to sponsoring Rolanda ( 15 yrs old girl) through Compassion International from 2019 to last year when Rolanda and her family moved out of the region that Compassion International serves. We currently sponsor Gemima (8 years old) also through Compassion as well as Samuel (12 years old) through Hands and Feet Project . My goal through this website is to give you an opportunity to join me in my mission to HELP HAITI THRIVE.
